  • Stately training and skills-development centre focus on helping our customers to achieve their potential. Stately Training offer BTEC (Pearson), HABC (Highfield) and QA Level 2 & 3 Awards at our Training Centre in Preston.

    Courses Available

    We deliver following courses at our Preston centre:

  • Level 2 Award in Door Supervision (QCF)
  • Level 2 Award in Door Supervision - if you want to work in a licensed environment such as pubs, clubs, off licences or any shop which sells alcohol you will need an SIA licence in Door Supervision.  This qualification is also suitable for those who want to work in retail security or building sites.
    This is a 4-day course consisting of a generic unit that is for anyone working within the Private Security Industry.

  • Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations Public Space Surveillance (QCF)
  • Level 2 qualification is designed for those who wish to work in the industry; and is awarded to those who pass two examinations covering the basic knowledge and responsibilities of the occupation also a practical demonstration covering use of CCTV equipment. This nationally recognised qualification is the industry standard and enables a CCTV Operator to apply for a license to practice.

  • Level 2 Award in Security Guarding (QCF)
  • Level 2 Award in Security Guarding qualification, which has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a security guard within the private security industry.
    It is a legal requirement for all security personnel to undertake a training course and apply for and hold an in date SIA Licence.

  • Level 2 Award for Upskilling Door Supervisors (QCF)
  • In March 2012 the SIA announced their intention to require existing door supervisors who had achieved the pre-QCF Door Supervision qualification (for example the National Certificate for Door Supervision) to undertake additional training in order to renew their licence.
    This new accredited one-day qualification comprises of the following two mandatory units:
    1 .Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
    2. Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors
    The Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors unit of assessment has been developed to cover the following subjects within the security sector:
    Counter Terrorism
    First Aid Awareness
    Dealing with Children and Young People.

  • Level 2 Award Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace provides learners with the basic knowledge for keeping themselves and those around them safe in a work environment, covering such important skills as using protective equipment, dealing with accidents and controlling risks.

  • Conflict Management
  • The Conflict Management course is appropriate for a wide range of sectors and is suitable for anyone who has a customer facing role, deals with service users or the public. It can also be a useful qualification for individuals who would like a better understanding of how to prevent conflict situations from arising and feel more confident in being able to deal with situations if they occur.

  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Our First Aid courses are designed for staff members who are required to manage an emergency in the work place.
    Topics covered include:
    Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions;
    Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures;
    Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
    Demonstrate how to administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure;
    Demonstrate how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation promptly and effectively; Demonstrate how to administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock;
    Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is choking;
    provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.

  • PTLLS Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
  • PTTLS level 3 an Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector covers the basics of teaching in continuing and adult education – including how to plan sessions, motivate learners and use a variety of assessment methods.
    The Award is for new entrants to the Lifelong Learning Sector and also suits people working in the area already who need the minimum threshold status as a teacher within a FE College, adult and community learning centre, work-based learning or training organisations and want to gain official qualifications. You should have an idea of what subjects you’d like to teach, and either have or be working towards a qualification in your chosen area.
